Lindiwe Majele Sibanda is Professor, Director and Chair of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence in Food Systems at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Prof Sibanda is also the co-Chair of the Global Alliance for Climate-Smart Agriculture (GACSA).She is a Board Member for WorldVeg, One CGIAR, Nestle and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. She is a serving member of the Champions on accelerating progress toward reducing food loss and waste towards achieving SDG Target 12.3 by 2030.

Lindiwe has also served in senior leadership positions in various organizations, including Vice-President, Country Support, Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and CEO and Head of Mission of the pan-African Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN).

Lindiwe holds a Ph.D. and MSC in Animal Sciences from the University of Reading, and BSc in Animal Sciences from the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
