Lily joined the UNEP Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in 2019 as the coordinator of the Cool Coalition, an official outcome of the Energy Transition Track of the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019. The Coalition is working with countries and industry to advance sustainable cooling to simultaneously contribute to the just sustainable energy transition, strengthen resilience and food security, while driving down rising emissions. She also oversees the urban energy work at UNEP, working to promote the uptake of efficient and renewable energy system in cities. Previously Lily was in the UNEP Paris office where she developed and led the District Energy in Cities Initiative which successfully unlocked over $200 million in investments for efficient, renewable heating and cooling infrastructure globally.

Over the last fifteen years, Lily has worked as a worked on the energy transition as a policy advisor at REN21 – the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century, Environmental Defense Fund, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability and the German parliament- where she participated in the set-up and promotion of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). She is also the report author of energy publications, including ‘District Energy in Cities: Unlocking the Potential of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy,” a UN Environment publication. Lily has a master’s degree in Renewable Energy Policy from York University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Toronto.
